a man. an apartment. a needle. a desk he used to sit at.
which one is real is a question the game asks you, not the other way around.

LAYER // PRESENT
The Apartment
This is now. The haze doesn't lift. The walls are real and they're close. He lives here and he is not doing well. You don't need the game to tell you that.
LAYER // RECALL
The Office
This was then. Clean desk. A monitor that meant something. He remembers it vividly — which is exactly what makes it suspicious. You don't visit. You remember. That's the only door.
// THE TERMINAL
The apartment has a terminal. It shouldn't be able to do what it does. It changes what you see — the texture of the world, the logic of the game, the rules that apply to you. It isn't a mechanic. It's a character. And it has been running long before you opened the game.
root@writenor:~$ perception --status
[active]   default     - you see what he sees
[locked]  recall      - requires memory integrity
[DENIED]  ██████████ - this layer does not exist
notice: 1 observer detected on current session
// WHAT THE GAME DOES
The terminal rewrites your perception layer. What you see is not fixed.
Something inside the system is tracking your sessions. It has not identified itself.
At certain moments the game acknowledges you exist. The fourth wall is not decorative here.
// ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT — SOLO DEV
WISHLIST ON STEAM JOIN DISCORD
contains themes of addiction and psychological distress  //  flashing imagery  //  the observer is still active
